Ok so I have no doubt I screwed something up. 978 is not showing on map. I did change the port for the map to :8282. But 1090 shows on map and ideas? FA is on a separate pi from asdbx
Well I have noticed. In case you haven't noticed I was showing the 978 was showing on my Flightaware but not on my adsb map. And I was asking for some pointer as to what could be wrong. Adsb does use dump978-fa and the flight aware and adsb image are on 2 separate pi's. It is my understanding that the 978 should display in the same map as 1090 using adsb. Am I wrong? The 978 status is from the adsb image pi.
Ok so as I said the only change I made was to the port the web server was on to show the tar1090 that is adsb. I am not asking for help with FA. I am asking for help with adsb. Again as I stated ADSB uses the dump978-fa on adsb image. It is my understanding that the UAT 978 is supposed to shown on the tar1090 adsb map. I have 978 enabled on the adsb image and the status is showing it is working. how ever as i illustrate with a comparison of the FA map pic and the adsb Map pic is not showing on the 978map using adsb image on a pie and status of the 978 on the adsb imaged pi showing status is good. This is not about trouble shooting FA bullshit. it is adsb that I am trying to troubleshoot.
Just as right this minute I am watching an aircraft that is on UAT 978. I can see it on my FA but not adsb and 978 on the adsb is enabled and status is good. but no 978 on adsb map
And to be honest I am kind of blown away. I spend money feed data to you guys and this is the attitude I get? Not the friendliest bunch.
You and 100 other people say "i made no changes, I swear .. 99% made changes ... so wasting hours on fixing it is non-productive use of my time." uat2esnt ... https://github.com/adsbxchange/uat2esnt clone, make, replace htop to find where uat2esnt is running from sudo systemctl status adsb-exchange-978-convert.service sudo systemctl stop adsb-exchange-978-convert.service replace uat2esnt sudo cp uat2esnt /dir/dir/dir/uat2esnt sudo systemctl start adsb-exchange-978-convert.service might fix it might not ...... I really don't care what you see on your FA .. I don't know where the FA is ... I don't care where it is ... if you are poking around editing configs and things stop working ... that's on you Obv you can see 978 .. so what is your issue?
Then don't feed if it's financially an issue. You are sending bits over the Internet not shipping diamonds. Everyone here is volunteering. FlightAware loves your data and loves selling it. At least you get a fake 'enterprise account' for your time with a made up price to make you feed good. ADSBx exists due to FR24 and FlightAware only being interested in profit and extortion. Take it or leave it. It is what it is.
First: thank you I will use what you have posted and try and figure it out. Second: the issue is I would rather just use tar1090 to view everything on one map. I would rather not have to look at FA map. Third: I have spent money and time setting this up. I Set this up to help your community. With the time and money I have in this I want to make dam sure it is working as it should. I want to make sure you guys are also getting the 978 data I am trying to collect for your community. Forth: If I made any changes other than what I have already stated I would say what I have done. I do understand the importance in laying out what was done so that I can get the help I need in figuring out where the problem is. And Last: I get that you do not care were FA is. I was simply using it as a comparison as to what I could see and what I could not see. The pi's for FA and adsb are right next to each other and the antenna are also. That is why I was using the comparison I was using.
I never said it was "financially an issue". Clearly someone is having a bad day and not reading my post in the context they are posted in. I get "ADSBx exists due to FR24 and FlightAware only being interested in profit and extortion." That is the main reason I came to this community to help send data to you guys.
Been through this in another thread. Its just the way it worked out. And bottom line I like it this way and I can afford it. So why not?
