Is anyone flight tracking on 978 in the US and is it worth it? Are GA planes really mostly on 978 and not 1090? Trying to decide if adding another antenna makes sense.
I get many GA planes, 172’s, Mooney 20’s, sr22’s and the likes on 1090. Not sure who is on 978, why do you think something is there?
I receive GA data, but I was wondering how complete my dataset was. Some GA is on 978 from my understanding.
I was just talking with a friend who flies an EMS helicopter, and that aircraft was recently upgraded with an 978 transponder. Sounds like they are becoming more common.
Hit or miss really. But if you are near a 978 tower you can't the the relayed traffic and other goodies.
