just looking for the president to come back from Indonesia from the G7 summit. see two planes plus the AF1 Boeing VC-25A plane. using the callsign MC1. never seen that callsign. what does MC1 mean? https://globe.adsbexchange.com/?icao=adfdf8 https://globe.adsbexchange.com/?icao=ae4ae8 https://globe.adsbexchange.com/?icao=ae4ae6
looks like this one came from Singapore. not sure what this one was there for. https://globe.adsbexchange.com/?icao=adfeb5
Sometimes the US military uses MC call signs as "Mission Code XX". I sometimes see that the ADSB transponder and the satellite transponder having different call signs, i.e. when Pelosi travelled through Hawaii recently on the way back from Taiwan, the callsign was SPAR19 when within ADSB coverage, but changed when out of range and reverted to MCXXXX when it was satellite data.
MC = Mission Code. The ADSB and ADSC transponder call signs are set separately, so when coverage between the two changes, so do the call signs. I'm in Hawaii, so see this often as planes go out of ADSB coverage range.
