Hello everyone! James here! Most of you know me as being feisty and blunt. That hasn't changed. It's been a long time since I officially posted an announcement. I hope everyone is well and looking forward to a great 2021 and beyond. It's been a whirlwind of updates, new servers, much more code, and a lot of infrastructure changes. ADSBexchange.com now has over 6,000 feeders globally! We have a goal to break 10,000 by 2021 year end, filling in all the terrestrial gaps that exist. We want to thank @wiedehopf for turning tar1090 into the premier aircraft tracking map available. Without his considerable and dedicated efforts this map would not exist for everyone to enjoy. ADSBx prebuilt image update A new image based on Buster was release that fixes many issues and gives you an upgrade path that doesn't require re-imaging for a new release! Yay! What is the data feeders send used for? We've been working with search and rescue, emergency services, and public good agencies by providing no cost tracking data to them. No other ADS-B tracker has been willing to assist these organizations one iota or to the extent of ADSBexchange.com. We can do this all thanks to all the dedicated feeders that take the time to setup ADSBx on their devices. The Peanut Gallery I try to ignore the noise most of the time but now and then I have to address what is going on. The 'awares' and the '24radars' aren't interested anything outside of making millions a month in profit from feeders and the data. It's apparent that ADSBx efforts to put ADS-B to good use has rubbed certain people the wrong way. Just as in previous years, those out to destroy ADSBx have worked tirelessly to cause trouble using various channels and venues. There are those who are vested in these commercial sites and will defend them even if those sites are working against them from every angle. ADSBx is still here and will continue do what we are doing as long as feeders will support ADSBx with their data. I was made 'aware' there is marketing recently proclaiming 'innovation'. Someone once said imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, thus the ADSBx team is delighted to influence and lead. Those that make hundreds of millions of dollars a year from feeders, employ large teams of coders, and continually work against the community of enthusiasts to increase their profits can follow ADSBx innovations in 2021 too! All we can ask of ADSBx feeders is to spread the word about ADSBx! Even 5+ years later, many out there do not know about unfiltered and unblocked ADS-B tracking. If those supporting the commercial sites added ADSBexchange to their Pi device, coverage in the interesting places would improve along with the coverage in your own backyard! We'll have more on all of this later this year, if we can find the time to write it all up. There's a perception we need to address and our thoughts and actions to change that perception going forward. Finally, as many of you know we've had a pretty awesome feature for feeders that install the stats ( ADSBx stats ) to create a public relay map for their feeder.
