C-GAOL is the Winnipeg Police helicopter. I have yet to confirm a sighting of it on my feed. We have just recently picked up 2 more feeders in the Winnipeg area and so now MLAT is starting to work. I'm hoping to 'see' it soon.

A few weeks back, someone was told by a Wpg Police officer that the helicopter spoofs it location so it cannot be tracked.

    Truth/fiction?

That would be a bit foolhardy when other traffic rely on seeing where it is, the whole reason for having ADS-B in the first place. Fiction !!!

    You can't spoof MLAT positions.

It could be spoofing the ICAO hex id though.

Wouldn't expect a police helicopter to spoof anything though.

That is not going to be true, at all.
