Can see my data in custom feeds but not on Global Radar?

I have noticed this a few times and again today. I can go to the custom feeds and pull up the custom map with my receiver selected (bthetford-53004). Looking at the custom feed I see exactly what my aircraft list shows at home. However when I look at the Global ADSBExchange radar page those aircraft do not show up in the list. What is wrong here? I appear to be sharing my data correctly but the aircraft list is not populating with my aircraft from the same location. I also noticed that aircraft are not plotting via MLAT over my area where they usually are. (Dallas-Ft. Worth / North Central Texas area). Ive attached images below showing this....

What about the local map on the Pi? That will show/should show the MLAT traffic. Custom feed is your data only - MLAT is aggregated from multiple feeds. Custom feed will only show your ADS-B traffic with postion AND the non-positioned pre-MLAT traffic.

Also, what custom port? Someone could be sending data to the same port. Only one feeder can connect to a port at the same time. There are people that can't follow the instructions; I routinely find data going to other people's ports etc etc

Well I forgot to mention that I am feeding using VRS. I don’t have a Pi. I have been feeding for a couple of years using VRS and followed the instructions given on this site. I did change from the default port of 41000 to my custom port when I found out how to display my custom feed. Still, when I load my receiver in the custom feeds map I see the same thing in the list I am seeing here locally. But when I load the global map and look in my area I have aircraft in my list that don’t show up in the list on the global map.

Following your suggestion I checked the port I was feeding to and it appears it was wrong. I still was showing data on my custom feed however which doesn’t make sense to me. Anyway I changed the port and I now appear to be seeing my local traffic on both the custom feed and global map.

I realize I am not set up locally to do MLAT and the only way I can see that is by looking at the Global Map on the site. I assume even though I am not able to view MLAT locally my receiver data I am sending is still being used along with other receivers to triangulate MLATs on the ADSBExchange map?

No your data is not being used for MLAT unless you are running the MLAT client. There are others who use VRS here - there are lots of issues with VRS but someone on here can help (probably). I think you can run MLAT python client on windows. My answer is always to "get a Pi". - much less electricity than feeding from a PC using VRS. :D

Thanks....I realized that I wasn't seeing MLAT however I was hoping that my data being sent was at least being helpful to show MLAT on ADSBExchange. At least I thought that was how it worked. I will explore running MLAT Python Client on Windows 10. I don't have a Pi and although that may be a great solution for someone who is only feeding data to this site it's not for me. I feed data to multiple locations using different software and use the computer also to broadcast live scanner audio of Air Traffic Control and other scanner audio to different sites. So, having Windows is a must for me and I am using an Intel NUC mini PC which does not use as much power anyway. I'll see what I can figure out with the Python client and maybe will be able to participate in MLAT. Thanks!

The good thing is it seems that now my data is making it to the main ADSBExchange Global Map list.

Thanks for the link to the MLAT Client. I will look at this tomorrow when I get home from work. Is this just download and run or is there some configuration that needs to be done I assume?

You have to put your location: LAT, LON, HEIGTH, source of data (dump1090 or sth else) and username. Edit .bat file. You will find what is to do on this forum.

The most important part of participating in MLAT is you MUST keep your clock synced to NTP daily. If you don't do this then it's best not to participate because sending garbge data is worse than sending no data.

So I have looked over the forums today about MLAT / VRS / and Windows and I think now I am more confused than ever. I realize that the MLAT client needs Dump1090 to work however everything I read about Dump1090 is that it's for USB dongle receivers and I am not using that. I have 2 receivers, a Kinetic SBS-1er receiver and a PlaneFinder Radar receiver. These receivers are hooked to a DPD antenna on my roof. I am running PlanePlotter and VRS with these receivers. VRS is feeding into ADSBExchange as well as my own site. PlanePlotter is being used to share to their network. I am also running BaseStation so I can share data with the MilitaryModeS website.

Anyway my issue is how does Dump1090 connect to my receiver(s) and send the data to the MLAT client? Do I have to have a separate dongle for MLAT to work? Like I said I am confused. I changed the .bat file settings and input my lat/long and altitude. I have not run the program because I know it 's not going to work without Dump1090 but I don't know how to get Dump1090 working on my setup.
