New here, and trying to figure out if the US setup would work just fine or do I need anything specific in Canada hardware wise? Is the Canadian 978 live yet and how does it differ from US specs in terms of receiving? Also do US planes still spit out 978 while flying in Canada? Sorry if this has been asked/answered before as I couldn't find this. Just a beginner trying to get setup. One last question, is it worth setting up 978 or just use 1090 as a beginner? Cheers,
I wasn't sure if that was the case or not. Do they stop transponding in Canada? I get a significant volume of US travel overhead plus I'm relatively close to the border. If they stop transponding then I'm not sure at what distance from the border that would happen. I may still pickup data, but if there is a significant drop off in data over say 50 miles vs 100 miles then it may not be worth setting something up to check. Thanks,
