I temporarily took the raspberrypi and my laptop off the vpn and rebooted the raspberrypi. Now all three circles on that page show green.

But I don't want to leave it off the vpn. So how do I get it to work on the vpn?

It's working on the VPN, just not showing /myip.

If you have MLAT sync it's working for certain, don't worry about it!

At one point you suggested that I use the adsbexchange image. I bought another micro SD card and downloaded that image. After I realized that I can enable SSH and set the password in the imager, it is really easy and quick to set up the adsbexchange image. I have it up and running on both 1090 and 978 now. The bottom circle on this page, https://www.adsbexchange.com/myip/ is still red. I do use a VPN all the time. But other than that it is running and as you said was easy to set up. Thanks for all your help.

Yeah the /myip doesn't check for proper MLAT sync anyway, that page needs some changes.
But .... all in due time.

    Thanks for feeding.
