Anyone asking for ADSBx to pay for feeds will be posted here and publicly known. ADSBx is volunteer project to support aviation enthusiasts and planespotters. We can help you with setup of a feeder and we can help you with knowledge. ADSBx will not grease your palms under any circumstances. Other sites may pay for feeds. ADSBx simply does not participate in bribery or extortion. === yahyaazsx at gmail.com hi ! i am a adsb hoster from Pakistan i am hosting for flightaware, variflight, planefinder, radarbox via their adsb receivers i want to say that if i can host for you guys from here with 500km range and some locations in (5 6 locations ) abroad can we make any deal for some money ? monthly or anything like that to host for you guys ,i'll wait for your response Thank You
Shame board, great idea! I can sponsor 1 receiver per year and send it to anyone who want to feed data. Money for feeding? I hope not here.
I am torn on the shame board! Just in-case anyone else was thinking we even have the budget to pay for feeds. ADSBx does not, and even if we did - I don't feel it's fair to everyone who volunteers time and effort to send feeds and improve coverage.
So he feeds all the for-profit sites for free... but wants the non-profit site to pay. Sorry, my brain divided by zero...
The for-profit sites definitely pay him. It's a regular occurrence for the people in the middle eastern countries to ask to be paid $100 USD per month or more. One feeder in Egypt recently wanted $1000 per month for his data. Graft, bribery, etc is unfortunately a regular part of doing business in these countries. We sometimes get feeders in India wanting to be paid in US dollars every month for a feed. They can ask, but ADSBx has no interest in it. We can send feeders, rarely, when we have extra donations or someone really wants a feeder. We'll just order it out of pocket. Usually if customs gets it, the customs official will want thousands of dollars in cash as a bribe, they call it a tax, import fee, whatever. Sometimes they make threats on the person it was sent to. One customs official wanted $10,000 USD, needless to say they can keep the $150 in hardware.
He was offering to host 5-6 and now wants just one sent. I fully expect to be next of kin of a Pakistan Royal Prince that left me millions if I just send a Pi. --- From: Yahya ahmed <yahyaazsx at gmail.com> Sent: Wednesday, September 5, 2018 12:11:32 PM To: James Stanford Subject: Re: ADSBexchange.com Contact Form - Data Exchange ive friends in DHL and customs and mostly when shipper uses my given dhl details customs dont stop and clearance is my responsibility and i also have respective documents to get it cleared and again getting it outta customs is my responsibility On Thu, 6 Sep 2018 at 00:05, Yahya ahmed <yahyaazsx at gmail.com> wrote: i dont have an extra pi at this time, tell me if you can send or you can send a rasp and an rtl ill get it cleared ive friends in customs and if sending ill give you dhl title to use http://www.dhl.com.pk/en/express/tracking.html?AWB=3811891403&brand=DHL http://www.dhl.com.pk/en/express/tracking.html?AWB=9859971984&brand=DHL http://www.dhl.com.pk/en/express/tracking.html?AWB=9859962464&brand=DHL ive received many receivers here in Pakistan proofs are above or sending a pi and rtl card with a sd card is much easier and ill run it free of cost on my expenses
AFAIK Pakistan is an Islamic Republic. So you can be only a friend of previously beeing Royal Prince . What does it mean "extra pi"? Old one is overloaded? I can't understand such kind of people.
I need to push the issue again with my cousin in Oman. I could label the package "diplomatic electronic parts.. think they'd make it? lol
