Looks like it working and feeding - but you aren't getting much range out of the antenna. That's about a southern Texas as you can get! Welcome to ADSBexchange and thanks for feeding!
Just for information: I don't know whether maintenance is being carried out - 18 Feb 10:27 UTC. My feed into port 51152 is dropping out frequently and having difficulty re-establishing a connection. The MLAT client is working fine and seems to have no such problems. Connections to other US based sites are all functioning fine.
Thanks guys. Been busy for a few days. Looks like it is working great with the exception of what looks like the entire adsbexgange server being down... I added a new antenna yesterday and a Pro Stick plus, so my range and aircraft skyrocketed. Nice that my receiver is able to help fill a big gap in coverage!
It's up and down. HAproxy handles the routing and it went down for an unknown reason - We'll figure out what or who is crashing it.
Thanks for improving mlat coverage. Find some guys who want to feed in Laredo, Corpus Christi and Brownsville Southern Texas will have perfect MLAT coverage. Marcin
No kidding. Plenty feeding FA down here....still unable to see my traffic but see lots of other feeders now...
I changed my Pi port to 51235 and I can see my traffic now.. not sure what was up with the other...Finicky!
HTML: https://flightaware.com/adsb/stats/user/iflyabeech#stats-12308 So one more quick question. So I got the new antenna and pro-stick plus and my reception has drastically improved. I have to be somewhat careful where I mount the antenna due to homeowners association restrictions. Currently it is mounted on my fence about 6 fit in the air with a neighbors house to the northeast and my garage just south of it. Would it be better to mount it at the top of my attic probably 30ft higher? I’m not sure how bad the roof and radiant barrier would affect the signal, but the elevation would sure help.
I have my FA Antenna mounted in the attic, just below the apex of the house. There is some loss of signal in line with the gable ends of the house (approx North/South) otherwise it's a big improvement on having it just above ground level - this is my reception over 28 days at all altitudes (The red rings are at 50 miles, orange at 25 miles)
I had the same experience. My HOA (i.e. "the wife") won't let me mount an antenna on the roof so I dangled in the attic and have 250+ mile range anyway. That puts my antenna about 25' AGL. My local altitude is about 600'. Bottom line is to get the antenna as high up as practically possible.
Be careful where you put the electronics. It's best to keep the Pi, ADSB dongle and amplifier at room temperature. I currently have everything in the attic but it's cold in the attic right now so it's OK. I'll have to relocate the Pi/dongle/amp when it starts warming up here.
So that was an epic fail. I suppose my attic is a faraday cage with the radiant barrier foil....I went from 13 aircraft to 2.. Going to move it to detached garage attic where there is no radiant barrier, but its not as high.
