Scripts aren't working for me on an existing system. I'd post more but it keeps telling me I'm spam if I do. Running the "how to feed" scripts. Greg NZ6E
That will need much much more detail, so please describe your system and "not working" in detail. Using discord might be faster than the forum. https://discord.gg/qdKN3k4
Like I said, when I added the scripts and detail it wouldn't let me post returning that I was typing SPAM Might be because I mention the other commercial site, Just trying to feed you guy as a request from a user. And my friend said you were doing server maintenance so that might be why I was getting file not found.
So you ran this? Code: curl -o /tmp/feed.sh https://raw.githubusercontent.com/adsbxchange/adsb-exchange/master/install.sh sudo bash /tmp/feed.sh Did it immediately say file not found or only later? Likely you mistyped something, try again! The feed scripts are on github, that shouldn't be affected by the maintenance.
Yes, with a sudo in front of it. Pretty amazing your two line instructions have the first line without and the second line with. Whatever... and before you think I'm stupid, I was a UNIX sys admin, although 40 years ago (SUN) and anything that was passed down as a "cook book" instruction had explicit instructions. I'm feeding the site now. Greg NZ6E
Why would i think you're stupid, typos happen to everyone Thank you for contributing! The second line needs sudo, downloading the shell script does not. Feel free to check the MLAT sync: https://map.adsbexchange.com/mlat-map/ There is some unfortunate mismatch with different spellings in the URL, we should fix that probably by hosting the file on our own page instead of github, less to type.
Without sudo the /tmp/feed.sh contained a 404 error message and not the commands to download. With it ran fine! Anomaly with Flightaware installed? Who knows.
Sorry folks Just checked and my Flightaware stats seem to have quit shortly after I installed your software. I am no longer feeding ADS-B Exchange. My feed is showing the aircraft that I'm seeing but not incrementing up my statistics. Greg NZ6E
FR24 and FA are under attack. Our feed scripts don't interfere with their feed clients in any way. Maybe there is an issue with your receiver? Or as i mentioned FA/FR24 have been having a lot of network trouble. Again i can assure you the script you installed works flawlessly alongside their feed client for lots of people. I've personally written it and can assure you that it doesn't interfere.
Another attempt... I've had some issues with my FlightAware and having to reboot more often than should ever be required. In my investigation I found a config issue on my build. I was able to fix that and it ran fine, feeding the Exchange and FlightAwafre I'm starting fresh...again... gotta love Raspberry Pi. One thing I've noticed was the FlightAware build has their dump1090 and dump-978 with a -fa appendage 1090-fa 978-fa Is this their attempt to prevent me from supplying information to other sites? Also, since this is basically a duplicate of what I built before (I might change the name since I'm no longer enamored with FlightAware and their crappy support) do I need to change anything? I'm sticking with FlightAware because of my brother who is also a FlightAware user and like some it's features but I have no issues with giving the Exchange my feed. TIA, Greg NZ6E
Use @wiedehopf scripts to fix issues. We don't support feeding FA or FR24, read wiedehopf's wiki and fix your feeder by yourself
Well ... https://github.com/wiedehopf/adsb-wiki/wiki/Raspbian-Lite:-ADS-B-receiver These are a couple hints for installing stuff. Whoever you choose to feed.
No it's not. They mostly add branding to the webinterface, but apart from that they have put some money in furthering development of those. And thank you for that feed, looks like a good spot to have
