Having lurked around for a while, I took advantage of the deal on the blue SDR+antenna+MicroSD to connect to an old Pi 3B+ I had laying around. Got it up and running and feeding within 10 mins with the ADSBx custom Pi image and could see out to about 60NM with it sitting on my desk. I live close to a local airpark and realized that I wasn't seeing everything passing overhead, so got the orange (978) SDR and antenna and solved that problem. Now how to extend the range, so purchased the ADSBx dual-band antenna and 25ft of cable, stuck the antenna in the highest part of the attic and now I can see out to 200NM! All in all, very pleased with my setup right now, so will continue to tweak...
