How can I tell if my feed would benefit the network?

I was planning on feeding, but then found the MLAT map and I am surrounded by feeders, with one just 3 miles away. How can I tell if my feed might make a difference? (I tried posting more details but the forum software said I was a spammer and would not let me continue until I stripped my post down.)

Edit to add: I am near this station: scottmrks_90

More receivers mean more redundancy and better MLAT.
You could also feed 978 (which won't be as interesting for you personally as 978 are far less planes than 1090 MHz).

Really if you don't already have the gear, most people just like receiving themselves :)
So up to you, hard to say how useful it will be.

    More feeds always better.
