I am feeding via a Pi and the FlightAware/ADSBExchange software. I have found a port that appears to be empty (51058) and I think (this is the big if for me) I have correctly setup the config file to feed to 51058 as opposed to 30005. Question - About how long before I should expect to find aircraft on the customgobal map when I select zCons-51058? Just curious if I need to be more patient or if I have not properly configured something. Thank you to all the people who make this site run. Feel free to blast my ass if I missed an instruction or am doing something wrong.
Seconds if you did it right. People sometimes feed nothing to the ports ... :/ ... grrr.. But literally seconds ... and you'll see your traffic.
There is a TCP port time out as well ... so if someone or you are hitting it at the same time it could take minutes to release ....
Thanks. So probably operator error on my end. I know it's feeding FlightAware and on the MLAT coverage page from 23:15-00:00 UTC I have coverage. So I probably need to tweak the file again or just reinstall the image. I edited it via SSH (my first time) so I may have screwed something up. Thanks again for all you guys do. I'll mess with again tomorrow.
https://www.adsbexchange.com/forum/threads/new-adsbexchange-base-image-v1-0.618988/ There is this image too. And/or if you put it on our virtual lan, I can logim .. and you can feed FA with it .. plus you get all the ADSBx goodies ..
Thanks. I need to reinstall the image. Something isn't right with the config file I am accessing via ssh. I delete my wireless network info and it still feeds FA. So I think best is to just blow it all away and reinstall. Thanks for the help. I'll ask again if I still have problems.
OK. All set now. Feeding on 51058. And yes - it showed up immediately once I fixed my issue. FYI - I was editing the piaware-config file inside the adsb-exchange folder on my piaware image. Not the one parent directory. ssh snafu on my part.
