Hello, Is adsb-config.txt supposed to be edited on the PC or on the Pi? If the SD card is inserted into my Windows 10 laptop the message is is that the drive must first be formatted. If have not yet installed the card into the PI, but if I do, how is it edited with Notepad, per the ADSB instructions? Also, the instructions say to edit Wpa_supplicant.conf before the PI is powered up. I am not sure how to edit the files on the SD card. Thank you.
With notepad. Windows will try to format the linux partition. Hit cancel. Do not let it do that. Follow the instructions. There are 2 partitions on the SD card. The /boot partition is FAT32, edit adsb-config.txt with notepad. wpa_supplicant.conf is also there. I tested that SD card before I sent it out. Notepad .. not Wordpad. Notepad! On my Windows 10 it shows up as boot (D) under This PC. If you click USB Drive, that's the Linux partition.
If Windows wrecked it. You'll need to install this software to re-write the SD card with the disk image. https://www.balena.io/etcher/ Here is a link to the ADSBexchange disk image. https://adsbexchange.com/myip/downloads/adsbx_buster.1.0.zip md5sum (zip): 34f14768c34b968c88f35a942b626665 md5sum (img): 4c316eb488961e97b923ee87a7fbe153 latest: 1.0.9 Mar 21th 2021
This is what it does on my Windows 10 desktop. It asks for format, just hit cancel. Be sure to eject using Windows, don't pull the drive out.
