Can we just say 'Europe' or 'European Union' now that you have now that nobody is allowed to have national identities except for Germany ..
Now Europe is split into 3 regions (at least on ADSBx ), Eastern, Central and Western. 2 regions with name starting Eastern Europe... a bit confusing.
Everything about region names and boundaries is correct now. Affected feeder from Eastern Germany is sometimes visible with or without syncs, sometimes in region 6. Missconfigured feeder or problems with power supply or feeding thru anonymizing servers.
Hmmm that 401-ED-2 one is consistently in the MLAT 6 zone. The proxy server looks at the connection string the feeder connects with and routes it based on the longitude value passed. If it ends up in MLAT 6 then it doesn't have a valid longitude value in the connection string. ...
Whats more interesting is the USA servers don't have issues and seem to have many more map dots connected. Thought the map dots are somewhat unreliable since the feeder image by default has privacy turned on - which tells MLAT server to not display the dot. Dots are also randomized in a 5K radius or more.
As I wrote... There is something wrong with this feed. 99,9% reason is feeding thru TOR or anonymous proxy.
Hi Folks, "Mr. MLAT-6" here. I guess that´s me. Though not by intent. James, I understand your frustration with folks like me who try to figure out the reason for failing feeders. This very particular feeder worked fine for some years. There is no misconfig - as I just configured it according to the description here. The feeder was not online for just a few minutes. I gave you access, you had a look, included it in your stable feeders list. Two days later it constantly went off MLAT. For no apparent reason. Then I renamed and went to a different custom port - and gave you notice on this by e-mail. I explained all of it. The feeder is not routed through Tor. Or you call Vodafone Tor. (in fact it is probably something similar) If the traffic indeed originates from Tor, from that particular feeder, then maybe you will give my notions on that military zone and the probable attempt to blur transparency via ADSBx by those who run it some consideration. I did notify you on some strange issues of this feeder before. Like it appeared in Italy, for example, on the Grafana Dump1080 map. Some time later, I couldn´t connect to the Grafana Dashboard any more and not to the Dump1090 map. Do you want me to turn of the receiver? I have got no intent to argue with you or to become the target of outbursts of irony or whatever. I am really keen on getting behind the reasons for this receiver failure. That´s all. Question: Do receivers in different MLAT zones sync? With drawing the line right in the middle of Europe´s biggest and only MVPA (please research before throwing some cynicism at me - there is no zone of this type in the EU and MLAT coverage of this zone is an outstanding feature of ADSBx in Europe) you would weaken MLAT coverage of activities in that zone somewhat that way. It wasn´t easy to get at least three receivers going that would MLAT cover the zone consistently. We had that subject the last time you changed MLAT zones. Just a question. No blaming or anything. It´s been a valid concern before when MLAT zones were split. I see that many more feeders are showing up east and west in Europe since the new split - very good to see! I´ll give you access to the feeder soon again, for you to get into the depths of those Tor lat/lon issues. I´ll be in touch when I get to it.
It should say: There is no other active zone of this type (MVPA, based on the below mentioned concepts by the European Commission etc) in the EU that is a rampant as ED-R 401 MVPA NE, so far. It is of significance because the contextual concepts that this particular zone is based upon has far fetching consequences for the entire EU. Look up "(Advanced) Flexible Use of Airspace", "Single European Sky", "Military Variable Profile Area" - all designed to maximise military air noise and spread it into areas that weren´t military air training zones so far. It´s a implies the loss of "quiet" remaining natural habitat zones throughout the EU. Half of n/e Germany have been turned into a military noise dump over night - without any kind of democratic transparency or participation of affected citizen. The only way to map this development relies on free projects like ADSBx.
It´s a Pi with a regular Pi power converter attached to it. What points to power supply issues? The very Pi is def. not feeding actively through Tor. It has no Tor installed on it. Only Zerotier.
Point taken. But without MLAT, we can not see military flights - or at least those that they chose to show. And they will always have to show some of it - because airspace in Europe is too tightly used as not to show at all. Or does the Italian Airforce fly around, broadcasting ADS-B? If so, it should become EU standard!
