Hi, Since the recent changes, the current location "dot" doesn't appear on the map at first startup of the site. Previously once set it remained in place after closing the previous session and re-opening the page for a new session. For instance, overnight when my PC is shut down. Now it's not there initially. If I go to menu>options>current location the box is already ticked, from the previous session. I have to untick it and re-tick it and then return to the page and then the "dot" is there. Any ideas? Uncheck and check again "Show current location". Will be shown again. Unfortunately I can't explain this issue (problem with cookies?).
I don't think so, as my other laptop has the same problem. All the other stored (cookie) data seems to work OK. Such as Filters & aircraft data. The screen is always set how I want it, except for the location "dot". There's another thread similar to this one, with the same problem, I think. It was started by scottj. I copied the url and pasted it here, but there was an error message in regards to "spamlike" content, and it would not appear. Rob
I learned from MDA also to fill in the location in VRS: Tools -> Options -> Receiver Locations -> add (+) Maybe that helps ...
I'm assuming VRS means Virtual Radar Server. That's not in my menu Options as I'm not a feeder. I just use the web interface. Seems odd that it doesn't save the location when before all the recent changes it used to. Rob
Yes, I know that, but it doesn't stay on the map after closing the session and re-opening it. It's checked when I look, but I have to uncheck it and re-check it to get it to display. All the other selections I choose do stay selected. This happens on 2 separate PC's, so unlikely to be cookie based. Windows 10 Pro 64 bit, Chrome browser 70.0.3538.102(the latest version) on this desktop PC, and Windows 10 Home 64 bit, same Browser on my other laptop PC. It used to work fine before you made the changes to the map display. Not the end of the world, but annoying none the less. Rob
This problem is also seen with the "Show range rings" setting. If I want range rings I have to turn the setting "off" then back "on". Its' definitely stored in the cookies correctly.
It's a product of how Andrew (VRS DEV) is doing the Leaflet map. I'm having to reinitialize the layers to get them to switch instead of always forcing the base layer OSM. So .. it clears the map location .. just go into settings and set it. Hopefully he fixes how he does things with the next update. I submitted a bug report. Ask him to change the how the layers are added to leaflet such that they are switchable instead of that OSM always loading no matter what you tell it to do. http://www.virtualradarserver.co.uk/
Hi James, That's all gobbledeegook to me. I just go into menu and untick then re-tick the map location and it appears. It's just an irritation rather than a major problem. But if it's fixed later, great. I just thought I'd report it. Rob
