vbino - I can also tell you that your mlat is working fine. We've both contributed to the same aircraft during the last 24 hours. I'm in NW France (Lezardrieux03) and I'm picking up some of your tracks as they move south and you are getting some of mine as they move north.
All seems to be working consistently now. Thanks for the help! How long does it need to collect data for before the range-splats show up? Out of interest what version of dump1090 do people tend (or recommend) to use? I'm using mutability v1.15 but really like the look of the heatmaps in the tedsluis version. Does that still work now that Google have restricted map api access? Are there any other ways of doing something similar?
I have to turn the range splats on manually, I haven't been unless someone requests then as it adds a lot of overhead if all 300 the feeds on a custom server are writing the splats. Send me the lat/lon of the antenna.
RE Google Maps .. unknown honestly .. Google broke everything - 1.15 uses OpenStreetMap and OpenLayers.
Thanks James. I'll PM you the lat/long now. Shame that Google got greedy, but hey-ho, nothing wrong with OpenStreetMap. If I can't get heatmaps because of it then it's no biggie. They just looked pretty cool.
Yeah sorry, I'll update it tomorrow. I was flying in New Mexico doing volunteer work and my friend got in a motorcycle accident on last week. Has been a crazy week. I haven't been able to up the new MLAT server either.
Me too. I just got home, we've been going to see him almost every night. He's very banged up. 11 broken ribs, cracked sternum, cracked vertebra, multiple bruises and contusions, bruised heart, lacerated liver, bruised kidneys ..
