I have just joined the Group and having trouble with the map. When it opens it is centred around LHR. Although I live in the UK I wish to look at airports in the US. I can do this by moving the map. This is OK for the first time but if I leave the page for a short while it times out and returns to the Home page. If I open the map to look at the US again it has moved back to LHR. Is there a way to keep it on the area were it timed out from and is there a way to stop the time out?
You have to enable cookies, defaul map center is near London (VRS default). Alternatively try to set current location (still uses cookies)
Thank you very much for your advice. I have tried moving the indicator in the past but it never works. I think it may be due to the cookies. Sorry but I'm completely at sea with regards to cookies. How do I use them in this context. Also is the time out of the screen due to saving on usage?
Don't browse in private mode, don't clean cookies on exit... After ca. 20 minutes you'll be automatically redirected to main (timeout).
Thanks for all your help. Just one other thing. In the label suggestions there is "Interested". Is it a mechanism to highlight aircraft not seen before?
Not sure but hope I'm not putting my foot in it. Is the database something that is constructed by the user. I have a database that is used in Planeplotter and generated from Planebase so is this similar?
Database story... https://www.adsbexchange.com/forum/threads/database-edit-requests.618679/ Changes requested by users, made by maintainers/db editors. Sometimes difficult to say which one should be marked as "Interesting" , local police helicopter is probably interesting for some people but not for adsbx global community.
Thanks for your help today. A lot to think about and to find out about the database. I'll leave you in peace for today.
Hello, I'm also completely new. I'll create my own thread if that's better, but perhaps my problem is similar. I'm not able to access the map at URL /VirtualRadar/desktop.html. I get bounced back to the home page immediately. I've enabled cookies. Any ideas on what behavior might cause the URL to send me back to the home page? Thank you very much!
If you open global radar from favorites then it will redirect you to main site. Click on Global Radar View and map should open.
I couldn't get it to work on Firefox, but it works just fine on Chrome. Thank you for answering ... the maps are just fantastic.
