Took the family to the Pima Air and Space Museum yesterday, and saw this guy stashed away at the side on the rehab yard. Tried to ask employees when it was going to go on display, and most didn't even know it was there

yeah, i tried my best to get as close as possible. The public wasn't allowed in the restoration yard. I actually found a spot much closer, but it was blocked by shrubs.

I did find a couple news articles about it being moved here afterward, but I don't think they're publicizing it much, and I don't think many people know it's there, even employees.

They said they hope to have it ready for display by fall 2023 - it has several missing parts, so they have to have replacements custom fabricated.

the model they received is 84-0810 "Night Angel" piloted by Jon Boyd

  4. where is the museum at? I've been to two museums one in Wichita KS and one in North Kansas City but they aren't as exciting as whatever museums that must be getting the F117A's. The one in Wichita has most of everything in bad shape and faded and dirty and bird nests in the engine compartments. The one in NKC was pretty small. everything was in the hanger.

Tucson, AZ. I've heard it is within the top 10 museums in the US. they've made excellent improvements in recent years. I could spend all day there, and have loved it since i was a kid.

they just took in the NASA SOPHIA; they have an A12 Oxcart, are about to launch a ground based armored vehicle museum, a few of Burt Rutan's personal experimental crafts, and some amazing WW2 craft and displays, including a completely independent museum within it dedicated ot the 390th bombardment group - and you can immediately see the dedication and emotional investment in everything in it and everyone involved.
