My location usually picks up about 3000 aircraft a day, during peak hours I normally have 100+ on my local map.
Numbers had been dropping slowly for the last few weeks but the last few days they are starting to drop faster.
I'm now only seeing about 50 aircraft when I look at my local map, and totals are down to less than 2000 a day.

Wonder how long until most of the flights around here are UPS and FedEx?

Total traffic we normally see has dropped 50% in the last week.

Things seem to have leveled off a bit, at around 1/3 of normal traffic. I'm seeing 40 now at noon on Friday when normally it would be 120 to 130.

Just occurred to me that the middle of the day now looks like the middle of the night used to look, and now after midnight I sometimes only see one or 2 aircraft at a time.
Seeing slightly less than 1/3 the traffic now, yesterday was the first time less than 1000 aircraft seen all day.

According to multiple reliable sources the governments of both the United States and Canada are about to announce the shutdown of their airspace to everything but private cargo, government, law enforcement and military aircrafts. The decision should be made public in the next few days.
