Well I must be extra stupid tonight because I still can't get this to work, assuming my ip address is 199.199.1.99 then in the host name box I put
ssh [email protected] and in the port box I put 3226
This still doesn't work, I'm probably misreading something somewhere

    I'm pretty sure .....

piaware combo image port is standard ssh port 22 - that's what is setup by flightware

the adsbx only image is 3226

Is your Pi in local network or remote?
    199.... address looks bit strange.

Ok, just tried ssh [email protected]<ip address> and port 22 and it still doesn't work
Perhaps I'll post on the FA forums in the morning, they may be able to help - the annoying thing is I've got everything working with the dongle but I would like to make use of the Beast receiver otherwise its £200 sat there doing nothing :(

Sorry Marcin, I was just using those figures as an example, wasn't sure if it was wise to post the actual IP address - my pi is on the local network

You can always post local IP, this network is behind router.
I believe that there are thousands of people having 192.168.0.10 address
    :D

I'm actually getting "Putty fatal Error, Network error, Software caused connection abort"
Ok, Marcin, the ip address is 192.168.1.75

    Can you ping your Pi?

Yes, I've seen it and as I said earlier I've got working with the Beast sharing to FA, but now I want to add more sites to share to such as FR 24. To do this headless I need to use a terminal program such as Putty, this is where my problems start

Once again, can you ping your Pi?

Wouldn't know how to, all I can say it connects to the internet ok and I can view the aircraft on vrs.
Anyway about to go to bed, so I'll look at it again in the morning

Ok, just to put a finish to this, I formatted the card, re-installed the piaware image and all is now working, using Putty without a problem - I have no idea where or what the problem was :)

New to ADSB, downloaded and burned the ADSBx-piaware-3.5.3-2.1.img and have it feeding Flightaware and I think ADSB Exchange. I wanted to setup a custom feed but no success. Followed instructions in "Custom feed - how to" but after choosing a zCON# that wasn't in use, tried to enter it in Piaware-config.txt. Maybe I missing some steps but I don't know what or where to find the ADSB feeder id? Is it the Flightaware . com feeder id?

I am very new to Linux command language. Perhaps my syntax is incorrect?

    Regards,

    Randy

Not sure if I should ask here but I saw your reference to the contents of the adsbexchange-netcat_maint file. Asking if the contents of mine shows I need to change some other parameter first before I can ?

Tried to post contents of the file but receive an error even when enclosed within []
    Attaching an image:

    Thank you

feederid is the custom port or default 30005 from piaware-config in the specific section for ADSBexchange variables

nickname is what you want to see it as on the MLAT matrix
    example

    adsbx-allow-remote no
    adsbx-lat 4.52625
    adsbx-lon -12.113828
    adsbx-nickname "feedADSBx"
    adsbx-feederid 30005
