I wanted to test FA antenna in new location but I'm not allowed to drill holes and install something outside.
    Solution below:

    Please don't lough too much.
First results are quiet strange, 1/4 wave spider is performing better.

I can not think of a very experienced expert that it's a metal coat hanger?:p:)Lol...

    No, it is plastic.

Is the drainpipe made of plastic as well? I think the FA antenna would like more to keep a distance from it

1/4 wave spider is still better than FA:

Don't look at "with position", data is redirected to VRS.
Sometimes amount of aircrafts is better with FA antenna, but amont of positions is always lower (tried different gains).

Can you change the antennas? I mean the mutual position. As you know reflections can significantly disrupt the sensitivity and opening angle ...

Tried already, FA antenna need to be grounded. When is installed on grounded mast is performing very well.
This can be imporant remark for FA antenna users, please ground well your antenna.

1/4 ground plane's result doesnt surprise me at all,
in my opinion it is one of the best antennas and can outperform collinears
In a variety of scenes, his simple and non critical structure makes easy to replicate
and compare, and it has a natural and excellent rejection to out-of-band signals

Haha, I'm dealing with a remote rpi at such a large distance that I can not drive to it for a short while. It's an unmanned station.
Despite all kinds of automatic reboot facilities (thx to MDA) and the possibilities of zerotier, vnc and teamviewer, the Rpi3B+ (Stretch) keeps getting stuck on irregular days and times.
Don't laugh... temporarily I now use a Smart Switch "Flamingo" of 17 euros to switch off and on the power on the Rpi via the internet with my smartphone! :p App HomeWizard Lite.

I agree with an earlier comment that it should be mounted on an earthed mast for the best performance however, in your case, this is difficult to do. I cannot tell from the picture but is it just outside of a window? Have you got access to a flat area where you could place a 1 metre mast with the FA antenna on top? You could then hold the mast in place by bags of sand at the bottom. No holes would have to be drilled for that to work. It doesn't look as though you can hang the antenna any higher using the current arrangement but how far down can it hang below the window? You could always attach it to a false 'mast' which would hang below the antenna itself
I still think that you deserve some praise for trying something new rather than simply saying 'it cannot be done' or 'it is not possible here'. I've built several antennae which are mounted on plastic tubing masts (household water piping) and I use plastic pipe to construct waterproof containers for many of my antennae.

I should rather write "I'm not allowed to do it in this location". This is only test.

I wondered about that - you have several feeds working so you obviously have found a solution for those!

What should I say...? In remote locations I have to follow local rules. Sometimes is easy, sometimes not.

They tried to stop MDA but unsuccessfully, little by little he is going on with colonization of europe:D

Anyway, tomorrow I'll try to buy some stuff to add "virtual ground " to FA antenna.
In this location I tested already some antennas (G7RGQ, CoCo, etc). 1/4 wave performance was always better.
I'll post photo if something will be changed.

I'm going to make a 1/4 wave spider after seeing how small it is and easy to build. I get reasonable range with my DIY Coco but now you've made me curious.

    Suggestions:
I made my tuned 1090 Mc discone with a PL259 chassis part and phosphorus bronze wires.
In preparation I placed the parts with staples on a cardboard and soldered it to each other.

Really good soldering skill, Joop...I wonder how did you manage to bring the SO239 chassis at the right temperature,
to get such a polished weld without to melt the teflon insulator!

Chassis part in the vise for heat conduction,
I worked fast with a 300 Watt iron.
    Soldeerbout 300.png
Later I made one with an n-connector (n-chassis part) .
    No problems encountered.
