Hopefully I'll be installing a feed on Mt Hebo, Oregon at 3100 feet MSL in the near future. I'd like to be able to connect to http://adsbexchange.local/tar1090/ from home instead of always bringing up a remote desktop. What port should I forward to the PI to view the ...local/tar1090 page? Tnx, Ken
I was hoping it was some other port. Already have a camera server on port 80. Anyway I can change the PI's .local port?
most routers you can use different internal / external ports. so port 85 is forward to port 80 on a specific internal IP. Anyhow the 1090 map should also be available at 8504
And if it does not work fo some reason, you can also use ADSBx Anywhere, link can be found on https://www.adsbexchange.com/myip/
A lot of ISP with block common ports and might even block ports if they get a lot of incoming traffic. People do stupid stuff like putting devices that should be LAN only on the Internet. We saw a lot of people putting their feeders exposed to the world without a firewall or basic security. That's why we created ADSBexchange Anywhere. Either way you have options.
