Hey there. Since a couple of days on the world view aircrafts do not disappear anymore. They freeze on center line until the show up on radar again. Its not the setting cuz i did not change it. it is not my computer cuz i have the same problem on my cell and the PC at work. Any help? Need someone reboot his feeing? Thank you and have a good time! tom.
Is it Dump1090 or VRS ? This is an important detail... But in both case, I would shutdown the software you are using and restart it just to see...
There is some buggy issues with the newest VRS 2.4.2 - we upgraded some things and also noticed 'sticky' birds on the UI. We think it has to do with the way VRS handles when an aircraft loses position but you are still getting a signal - this new 2.4.2 seems to stick the last known position instead of removing it from the display. Even when settings are set to remove from display. VRS was never meant to display a Web UI to many users. I want to move away from it but I assume people will have a fit and complaints will run rampant with emails in all caps like the last few days.
Thank you but i am a lurker. i only use the radar view and i am not feeding myself. Thank you very much for your help.
I am new on this forum. My question is about searching in "Other Tracking Info" -> "Flight History data". Until recently I could search on "registration". From beginning this week on I can only search on "ICAO". Has settings been changed? Or did I miss something ?
Cost thousands to maintain and serve that Database, $4000 last month for that fight-data site. Database is 13 billion records and sorted by icao hex. Reg and call sign timeout because it takes up to 20 minutes to search the 13+ billion positions. Use icao hex. It's directly related to registration. Thus there is no need to search for registration.
Thanks James. But how do I do it. ICAO is airport?!? and I do want to know flight track of an airplane
ICAO Hex are related to the aircraft. In the picture below, this is VRS, the ICAO Hex is 780C58. This is tied to this aircraft, like the registration.
Icao hex is not an airport. Ok, there are ICAO codes for an airport and all kinds of stuff, ICAO is the organization that manages all this stuff but specifically those are not a transponder 6 digit hex code .... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aviation_transponder_interrogation_modes https://aviation.stackexchange.com/questions/9440/how-to-get-registration-from-icao-24-bit-code http://www.gatwickaviationsociety.org.uk/modeslookup.asp https://github.com/mutability/dump1090/blob/master/public_html/registrations.js See the above post! xJMV nailed it!
