Hello. I am new to this ADBS meaning I setup an exchange feed this evening via my raspberry pi. I have to say it is very cool to see and the kids are loving it. I have attached two screen shots for the aircraft passing through my area. I would have thought my local map / feed would have picked up completely but that was not he case. Am I doing something wrong?
Antenna needs to a clear view of the horizon if possible. If it's a magnetic base antenna, you want to place it on a cookie can or pie dish. You should regard 1090 MHz as line of sight that can go through clouds but not as well go through trees and other solid objects. Thus ... optimally the antenna is on top of the roof with hopefully a good view of the horizon. Which hardware and which image are you using?
