Hello all, i currently supply data to Flightradar24 using their own unit, however i like the look of feeding to ADS-B so i'd like some advice as i know nothing about PI as i have just used a Dongle via RTL1090 on planeplotter as well as my feed into Flightradar24 all on Windows.

Any help at all is most appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

Hello thanks for getting back to me.

I want to supply data via the rtl1090 via a RPi but as i said i have no knowledge of these at all as i have only used windows before, i was looking at some kits but i wasn't sure if these are compatible as they come with cards preloaded with NOOBS , and i haven't seen this mentioned in the setup guides.

This is one of the kits i was looking at,
LABISTS Raspberry Pi 4 B Model B 4GB Starter Kit Motherboard 32GB SD Card Preloaded with NOOBS, Cooling Fan, 5.1V 3A Type C On/off UK Edition Power Supply, Micro HDMI to HDMI Cable, Black Case

Is this ok to use ?

    Kits are typically overpriced..
Also it's not really going to be easier using a kit.

Rather i'd propose this shopping list: https://github.com/wiedehopf/adsb-wiki/wiki/adsb-receiver-shopping-list

The custom-image page i linked previously describes how you prepare the sd-card in windows.
After using balena-etcher to write the image to the sd-card, you just configure your location and put it into the RPi.
The you switch on the power for the RPi and you're feeding.

This page will then show if everything is working:

If you don't know what to do next in regards to the image (the guide isn't too clear maybe), best thing is to join the discord say what you've done previously and just ask what the next step is.

    That's me all sorted
I just went with the kit i said as it was fairly priced so after watching a few videos and comparing different setups to get an idea how this all works i received the kit this morning, put the ADSBx Custom image on a card and presto all seems to be ok, 2 green smiley faces and also in the ADS-B Exchange feeder map as well, just need a few more planes now.

    Thanks for your help wiedehopf
