I was looking at military planes, and I saw these interesting planes flying behind each other at around the same elevation, as well as one circling an airport. Are these jets? And, if so, does the website mark them as unknown for security reasons, or do the trackers really just not know?
It's a database lookup to determine type and registration. So these planes are simply not in the database. Planes don't broadcast their registration / exact type. Depening on the transponder they send a category but in this example they don't.
