    Hi guys and girls,
Sorry to trouble you with this again but I am experiencing problems with tar1090 again.
I decided to put my Pi4 on the uploading duties and have had huge problems with it (to be honest I wished I had never bought the thing) to cut a very long story short (I've been up all weekend trying to sort it), any way I googled the problem and found that some Pi4's were having trouble with radio signals and cutting off the wifi and it seems this is what is wrong with mine, I just cannot get it to connect, it turns out the Pi foundation are aware of this and we may see a permanant fix in a week or so (I've tried the temporary one's but no go), as I can't use my Pi3B+ I had uploading (through other problems) I have taken my other PI3 B+ off of monotoring duties and am now using that in the loft to upload.
I got Planefinder working again. no problem, but I have a similar problem as before, everything looks ok but it doesn't appear to be uploading.
I am not using the adsbx image this time I have gone with a manual approach. I have the green smiley faces at this site 'https://www.adsbexchange.com/myip/' and the feed map shows but only 6 a/c when Planefinder is showing about 25 a/c and on the adsbx screen the a/c are stationary and I have a red edged yellow box with the message:

'Problem fetching data from the server!
'AJAX call failed (parsererror: SyntaxError: Unexpected end of JSON input).
The displayed map data will be out of date.'

I am not sure of any other pertanant information, other than.
    !. P I3 B+
    2. Not using the adsbx image this time.
    3. The tar1090 map freezes all white with only the dark green buttons and headings showing.
    4. just about every where I go it says it's working.
    5. When I did a MLAT test it said last seen 12 seconds ago.
    6. I tried your script you gave me before wiedehoph and it is still the same.
    7. I made a fresh SD card install just in case it got contaminated from the one in the Pi4.

    Woould appreciate any help.
Need a shower and bed for now.
    Cheers

Use the local /tar1090 webinterface ....

Feed map won't work if it's running twice on one internet connection.

Also i just had to think for ages because you didn't mention which URL wasn't working .....
Or maybe i'm mistaken, then please post the URL that isn't working.

Are you having issues with the Pi 4 and running with an HDMI cable?. Trying running headless if you haven't and see if that makes a difference?? You may have already tired this... in which case I'll keep quiet. If you use Mobaxterm rather than Putty to do your SSH you will be able to browse the file system of the SD card.

    Hello Wiedehopf,
192.168.1.xxx/tar1090, the one at my opens the map ok but no a/c.

    Hello Richard,
No I haven't tried that, now that you mention it, it seems obvious, trouble is once I get a problem I can't leave it alone, I have to get it sorted, oops I've just seen an error in the post I addressed to wiedehopf, better get that sorted.
Wouldn't dream of telling you to keep quiet, I got to the stage where I wouldn't spot the obvious, it takes another pair of eye's to look at it.
    Thanks.

    Wledehopf,
The one that works is from the page with the smiley face's 'my ip' but no aircraft, well only a few compared to PF.

    Hi,
I've just turned it on now and the map on the 'my ip' route shows 16 a/c as does PF but they are stationary, still no joy on xxx.xxx.x.xxx/tar1090.
    Cheers.

Internal IPs can't be accessed from the outside .... you can post them without an issue.

    What does this command say?
    ls /run/readsb

    You've already re-run the tar1090 install script?

    Hi,
OK, I hear you on one, thanks.
I would hazzard a guess and say that, that command says list all files in the run/readsb folders, or just the readsb folder located under run, and the answer is, cannot access, 'No such file or directory', on both my uploading pi and my monitoring pi.

I re-run the the tar 1090 install script again because I remember reading that if you think you have broken something then re-run the install or the update script they are both the same, so I did. You end that with a question mark so, yes.

One thing I have noticed that on the sharers map I have two little circles, is this why?

There is one thing I forgot to mention that my ip address on the uploader has now altered from 192.168.1 131 to 192.168.1.180 and I cannot find anywhere to alter it, I'm sure there is, I've probably overlooked it. Entering it manually as 192.168,1,180/tar1090 just comes up with 404 Not Found.

I have the pi back in the loft now and can ssh to it ok.

I'm looking for the config file now, I am sure I read it in one of your posts recently.
    Cheers

    What decoder are you using?
    Did you install dump1090?

Which address do you use for SSH? That's what you use for /tar1090 as well.

Are you using the data from the planefinder hardware receiver?
Or are you running your own SDR?

If you are, i don't think you ever mentioned that ....

    Hello wiedehopf,
Sorry I seemed to have missed your suggestion about VRS, I am running it on my win.10 laptop not the pi and I have putty working ok, on a pi3B downstairs to monitor the pi 3 B+ in the loft, my models of pi are slowly dwindling, I'll be down to a 1A before long.
I'm just playing around with the VRS at the moment, see what alters what and so on.
Going to try Richard's suggestion with the 3B later on, try it headless on the 4 then I may try again to put it in the loft, I do really prefer the 3 series, may get onother 3B+ plus later.
    Cheers.

    Hi,
No not as far as I know, I installed adsbx after PF with the install script both on the same SD card, I assumed adsbx get's its data direct from the dongle as does PF, not totally sure how they work when you install one or more programs onto one SD card and all operating at the same time.
Not sure what you mean by running my own SDR, wouldn't work without one would it? (that is not a sarcastic response).
I do use the same address for ssh as for /tar1090, I believe I did mention that, no worries as long as I can get it sorted.
I think the information I give to be pertanant to the problem and I'm sorry if I don't think of everything but I can't anticipate your questions, as much as I'd like to.
    Take care.

    Well,
For a moderator you really have an attitude, you have to realise not everyone is as brainy as you, if you don't have the patience then don't do it.

Leave it with me I'll sort it myself.

Glad we got that out of the way, good luck!

Also removed the latest attitude, those things are dangerous.

    Hello Richard,
I tried your suggestion to try my pi4 headless and it was still the same, I even tried plugging a wireless dongle in but again nothing, and re-installed the boot and eprom files from the pi site, I'm going to shelve (in the bin) it for now and concentrate on what I have in hand, getting the other one sorted, I'll probably do a complete re-install starting from scratch, if that doesn't work then I'll scrap the idea and move.
    Thanks for your previous help.
    Take care.
