Hi James, Today I have installed the adsbx-v1.28vlan image but now i'm trying to access via ssh but the password is wrong (admin), what is the password please. Thanks, Aerotower
There is no 'root' password on Raspbian. https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/linux/usage/root.md You use sudo for everything ... You should never use Linux as root. Do not enable root. This isn't windows, you don't need God powers to do things. You will break things. But if you insist .. https://vicpimakers.ca/tutorials/raspbian/change-the-raspbian-root-password/
The real change that we have to do is change the sshd_config. I need that to change files on an easy way with winSCP.
why? winSCP is dangerous. ssh [email protected] -p 3226 even sshfs works. There is no reason to do whatever you are doing. "I need that to change files" What files do you think you need to change? I don't think you know as much as you think you know. https://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/latest.html https://www.solarwinds.com/free-tools/solar-putty
I need to make changes in rtl-airband-Rb.conf that's why. "sudo nano" isn't fast enough. I use putty as well, but my knowledge of Linux commands is limited.
Well feel free to use ADSBx custom image and do what you want - but support stops at this point, if you break it you are on your own. I'm not sure what you mean by 'sudo nano' isn't fast enough ... but ... people think many things .. But if you are 'fast' editing text files then I think you are failing at what you are doing anyway.
Well you didn't listen when it said to ONLY install PiAware not all the FlightAware garbage. https://www.adsbexchange.com/forum/threads/how-to-feed-flightaware-with-adsbx-custom-image.620668/ You didn't want to 'fast' edit configs. Had nothing to do with nano either. You wanted to install commercial for profit sites so you can circle jerk to fake Enterprise accounts. If you had been honest we would have told you FA would purposely break you Pi and add a TCL/TCK backdoor. Congrats on fucking up your shit. Hope you enjoy FlightAware.
I don't have that need, I have oficial feeders from almost all enterprises!!! And yes I need fast access to edit configs for rtl-airband-rb. And I don't have any problem to do everything again from the beginning. We learn and we break things.....but you are the most expert guy in the planet so you don't break anything.......You are administrator on an forum, you should have the correct posture. Have a nice day!
You are obviously the expert so why did you even ask for help? Then why did you install dump1090-fa 3.7.2 .... You make no sense .. If you have FlightAware FlightFeeder then why are you installing dump1090-fa? rtl-airband-Rb.conf is for ice-casting ATC to Radarbox24 ... that has nothing to do with installing dump1090-fa
Was has sudo nano" to do with "putty"? how can a simple editor not be "fast enough"? Please explain. sudo nano launches the editor as a command on your linux box. putty is a tool which connects you to your linux box. Or in other words: You will need putty for accessing the command line as long as you do not have keyboard and monitor connected directly. If you have official Flight feeder, what are you trying to do?
