I am new to this site and sites like this one. I use ADS-B exchange for tracking aircraft, and as a aircraft spotting tool. As I live quiet away from a main airport / airbase, ( nearest is Manchester, 2.5 hour by train, and Coningsby/ Waddington , one hour by car). I do spotting using a scanner and a laptop, catching the callsigns, as they fly over the uk.
    here is a example:

    1) Scanner tuned to London control on, 126.78mhz
    2) Picks up callsign: Delta Airlines, DL134
    3) Check and find Delta Airlines DL134 in ADS-B Exchange
    4) Find type of aircraft , and registration, heading and other information.
    5) Log information on spreadsheet
    6) Find a picture to use from a website (ask aurthor to use before downloading, copyright law).

There is a wealth of information out on the web, which I use. The two books I have for cross referance are Cilvil and Military markings, which gives you registrations and who owns the aircraft.

I find this a great hobby for anyone and any age, with or without a disability.
