Any idea what has happened to the feeds to use in your own VRS from pub-vrs on ports 32001/5/15/30?

    THANKS

I messaged James who was aware it is not working. No response when it will be operational again.

I fear it was being abused by people who don't feed adsb and use it for commercial gain.

Perhaps make it like adsbhub.org - only feeders can access the global stream? I made that as a suggestion to James too.

We shall patiently wait I think.

Regards to all who share adsb data.

Thanks for reaching out to James and updating us on it. I like how adsbhub.org has theirs setup with whitelist IP's and currently using that as a get by for now.

Any update to this anyone? The json feed has been down for a week now.

I just returned from a few weeks holiday to find the pub-vrs dead. Very sad indeed. I did post a query on VRS Forum before finding this thread. If someone there posts a reply I'll pop back and update.
I'm a bit reluctant to change my feeds to raspberry pi as I am clueless and don't want to make the banned IP List. Hopefully it is something innocuous and all will be revealed in time.

Access to pub-vrs is firewalled because it was being abused by people reselling the data.
    Contact James for details.

Shall ADSB feeders ever again get to see data on pub-vrs we can use? James did not reply in reference to MDA message as posted.

Thanks all feeders for any news?

Hi, Blinkadsb. I haven't had a reply directly from James either, but it isn't a requirement and he's probably as busy as all get out.
It took some trawling,of the site to discover but the VRS feed is finished and seems likely never to return. I did receive some advice and support on starting from scratch again with a Raspberry Pi and although It's a bit of a struggle (Linux Noob), this seems to be the way forward.
It seems VRS has created more problems than solutions for ADSBx (although I cannot presume to speak for them), so follow the ADSBx setup guides is all I can advise sorry.

Addendum to my last, Blinkadsb. If you lookup "Current VRS feed IP that are currently banned" on page 2 of the thread, you will find Wiedehopf's excellent assistance to me.

Sketco, thank you to reply but this in your message is not relevant to my questions.

I have excellect data that is already succesfully 24/7 shared with ADSBx that everyone enjoys - this is not issue.

My request if for the combined feed tht was always made available on pub-vrs server. This has stopped.

Thank you for your reply but it is not useful to this subecket :)

    Best to regards

james and MDA (Dan, hello) please will you allow ADSB feeders to access global data stream once again? Firewall rule like adsbhub.org - if people who share only people who to receive stream back.

    Thanking all

Just FYI, we're working on it. The problem is filtering out the ones abusing ADSBx data. We found several businesses posing as feeder and reselling your data.

Thanks to James. I hope to see you success soon :)

Maybe some one to make friends at adsbhub.org and to see how only people who feed can get data? I do not know you clever people :)

    Thanks to all sharing data

adsbhub.org doesn't care what you do with the data. The coverage is every bad, and the data is very laggy sometimes.

I know how they do it. And that doesn't solve the problems that ADSBx is having.

ADSBexchange.com is not ADSBhub, FlightAware, or FlightRadar24 ...

Oh ok. Thanks for the reply James. So ADSBx feed to VRS isn't completely dead and buried. That is great news as the configuration is so much simpler than slogging through a Pi setup for a Linux Noob. In that case i'll just continue refurbing my hardware and wait for its return to feed. Excellent, Cheers

This is only for VRS from ADSBx. You should still connect and feed ADSBx with a Pi based feeder for unfiltered data and MLAT.

Also connecting your VRS to your local Pi feed requires no Linux knowledge. Setup a receiver in VRS that connects to 30005 at the IP of your Pi on your LAN.
