yes, it was a Coast Guard MH-60T Jayhawk.

it made a tiny little 1/2 mile orbit, landed again, then took off and went up and down Malibu Coastline then settled at the USCG Station.

its not uncommon that the DoD and US Gov loan their aircraft for quick movie shoots for specific scenes, and to save time and costs, integrate them into other operations.

    here is the entire flight:

notice that tiny little loop around the Hollywood Sign.

Start there and watch what happened. he landed there, sat there for a good few minutes, took off, made another tiny orbit and then departed.

I have a good friend who is currently in LA, who is a set extra on a active filming set, he confirmed to me something about a Coast Guard Helicopter for a short scene.

Airshows for single active military service aircraft that do not stop at the airfield do this all the time for the same reason, integration of other operations for time and fuel costs.

    perfect example:

back in 1999 I worked the flight line for the Atlanta Georgia "Wings over Dixie" Airshow, and we had 2 spectacular demonstrations by a B-1. the first was about 10AM, multiple passes. then he flew off. it was disclosed to us at the end of the day, from a phone call from PIC himself, he thanked us for allowing him to perform not once, but twice. when he left, his flight took him straight to Barksdale AFB. one of his passes he had the bay doors open and we all saw the 30 some MK-82 Bombs strapped to his belly. he confirmed that he was in fact loaded. but the bombs were still safety pinned. he flew to Barksdale to arm them. he then went to the bombing range at Eglin AFB, on his way back, it was planned to make a single pass, and oh did he make one.

The second pass, came from the Southwest of KFFC, B-1 pipes up on radio, heads-up yall..... Point 95 Mach, from the Southwest ....... nearly the instantaneous moment the radio clicked off...... WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH

full burners wings back sneak pass by a B-1, even the crowd announcer did not say anything, but we knew ;)
