Are you running the dongle off a USB Hub??? I was running FA on a ZeroW with a NooElec Nano 3 dongle and it would crash after about 30 minutes or so. Hooked it up via a powered USB Hub and it runs fine.I didn't try it with a RTL-SDR I was trying to create a small package. Don
I've just flashed v1.28 and the MLAT doesn't seem to be working. Lat/Long Alt all inputted correctly as per sample config - MLAT set to yes. Dashboard is showing no MLAT aircraft but dump1090 is picking them up. I've ran sudo systemctl status mlat-client And get the following output ● mlat-client.service - LSB: Multilateration client Loaded: loaded (/etc/init.d/mlat-client; generated; vendor preset: enabled) Active: inactive (dead) Docs: man:systemd-sysv-generator(8) Any suggestions on why I can't get MLAT working ... sorry if I've missed something obvious but help is appreciated.
Tried sudo shutdown -r now Recheck on MLAT client - still showing inactive sudo systemctl status mlat-client ● mlat-client.service - LSB: Multilateration client Loaded: loaded (/etc/init.d/mlat-client; generated; vendor preset: enabled) Active: inactive (dead) Docs: man:systemd-sysv-generator(8)
Please recheck parameters Code: LATITUDE 3.366320 LONGITUDE -11.694614 ALTITUDE 400 ADSBXCUSTOMPORT 30005 ADSBXNAME "feeder-name" Feeder-name has to be unique, coordinates with dot. Is it Pi 3B+?
Yes it's a PI 3B+ Parameters as follows "xxx" = edited but representative of character count MLAT showing same error output after another reboot
Can you run netstat and post screenshot with TCP connections? I can help remotely, just join my network: Code: sudo zerotier-cli join c7c8172af1622d48
It looks that connection to mlat server is established but you're not on sync matrix (if username is as you posted above).
It is - the only difference I can see is when I run htop and find the MLAT process on there the username for the feed has the user name I specified (EGNT125-ADSBx) then additional characters after (please see screenshot). I've even re-flashed and started a new setup and still can't get it to work. Could the different username showing on the htop process be stopping the sync as it's not the one I specified in the parameters?
HI - the MLAT seems to work for a bit then drops out. When I look the MLAT sync matrix the receiver shows name as EGNT125-ADSBx_88f25a_1.26vlan not the feeder name parameter in the boot setup file (EGNT125-ADSBx). I do note your previous message (quoted) but just find it odd that other feeders in the MLAT matrix don't show "extended" - again wondering if this mismatch in name could be causing the server sync problems and the MLAT to keep dropping? It also temporarily disappears from the sync matrix then pops back up Thanks for your time again
ADSBx adds .. a slice of MAC address .. You can change that by manually editing adsbexchange-mlat_maint.sh
Also @EGNT125 .... you have NO traffic displaying .. or being detected .. MLAT will not stay connected if there is no traffic ...
I rebooted your Pi and it starts working. You have either power issues or a bad SDR that crashes out after a bit. And you have no range .. not sure if you are in a cave or something is wrong with antenna, or the SDR is toast ...
Hi Guys, I just installed on a pi the adsbx-v1.28vlan.zip image, now I've got a couple of questins: 1) The 'Grafana Dashboard' requires a login, where do I get the user name /password from? 2) I used the standard adsb_config with my location and so on, but now I get periodically an error, saying 'No binary formatter available, falling back to text mode'and a 'disconnecting from feed.adsbexchnage.com:31090, any advice? Greetings from Germany Thomas
Hi Look at beginning of this thread for passwords No worries 1st message is typical, 2nd one caused by mlat server today. Marcin
